Introduction
Dr. Wu has been extensively working on various problems in the
frontier of theoretical particle physics, condensed matter theory and
mathematical physics. These include unified field or string theory,
conformal field theory, topological quantum field theory, fractional
statistics, the quantum Hall effect and strongly correlated systems,
two-dimensional integrable field theory and lattice statistical models
including quantum groups and the Yang-Baxter equations. Quantum Field
theory is the main tool in his study of fundamental dynamical laws in
various quantum (string, field and many-body) systems. In particular,
he is interested in the topological aspects of physical phenomena in
both particle and condensed-matter physics, and in the geometric and
algebraic structures underlying the fundamental laws in physics.
